Homemade Burger Recipe

To get started, you’ll need the following ingredients:

  • 1 ½ pounds lean ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 1 clove of garlic, minced
  • ½ an onion, finely chopped
  • ¼ cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon dried and crushed rosemary
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: 4 slices of cheddar cheese

This recipe serves four people, but if you have a larger party multiply the ingredient amounts accordingly. For example, if you are expecting 8 guests, double up on the ingredients.

3 Easy Steps to Prepare Homemade Burgers

Once you have your ingredients ready, preheat your grill on high heat. As the grill is preheating, you can begin mixing your ingredients as follows:

  1. In a large bowl, mix the lean ground beef, egg, garlic, onion, panko breadcrumbs, garlic powder, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, parsley, basil, oregano, rosemary, salt, and pepper.
  2. Divide your burger mix into four parts. With your hands, form four patties.
  3. Place your patties on the heated grill and cook until well done. Each patty should be cooked for about 5 minutes on each side.

Optional step: If you would like cheese on your burgers, add a slice of cheddar cheese to your burger while on the grill, about 1 minute before it is done cooking.
